The De Palm Island is one of two private islands just off of the shore of Aruba. It's a popular place to swim, snorkel, dive, or sea trek. You can do this on Mayan Riviera as well. Sea trekking is like diving except you are hooked to an air tank through your 70 pound helmet. You go down a ladder into the water before they set the helmet on your shoulders. It looks like a space helmet. The helmet has a hose in the top that pumps air in for you so you actually walk on the bottom about 15 feet down amongst the fish and the coral. Scuba diving is very popular for our shipwreck sites. We have at least two popular ones. You rent your equipment at a pretty reasonable price. Obviously we have deep sea fishing as well. You can fish for shark, sail fish, and both black fin and yellow fin tuna.
