The average price for cork flooring is in the $3-$9 range, a little higher than the $2-$8 range for bamboo. Cork is less plentiful than bamboo in general and the process of manufacturing cork is probably a little more expensive than bamboo. But cork is also a very green-friendly, earth- friendly sustainable product. In fact when they take the bark off the tree, the tree is fine and continues to create new bark. The trees live between 100 and 200 years and they can take the cork off every 8-10 years. It's much more environmentally friendly process than the clear cutting we do here for hardwood floors.
