How Do I Avoid Or Escape An Attacker?

There are signs usually, but not always. I am a very alert person; I am usually paying attention, but I don't see everything. I mean, if the guy knows you are paying attention, he knows you are being alert and when you are walking around with your head up and shoulders up, you look like trouble. He is not worried about you, because in other minute somebody is going to walk up behind you, that is just slopping along with their shoulders down and head down and not paying any attention; that's the victim. If you pay attention and you are looking around, most bad guys know that you are looking around. They know you are paying attention. Those guys will still walk towards you. You can put your bag on the other side, you put it over your shoulder and hold really tight and if you've got pepper spray, you reach in and put it in your hand and you keep walking. Those are the kind of guys that offset your natural senses. These senses have evolved over millions of years, but a lot of time we don't pay attention to them. Sometimes, the attackers come up from behind and they get you and that's how what happens. But most of the time, there are some warning signs somewhere that something may be ready to happen.
