Situated along the ocean, Bandon is a seafarers paradise. Boats line up along Bandon's Old Town ready to launch into the ocean for an excursion or fishing adventure. Small seafood restaurants are aptly located nearby as is a fresh seafood market delivering the best catches of the Pacific Ocean.

Along Old Town's waterfront you will find, not only an abundance of seagulls, but the wonderful harbor seals hoping to sneak a treat the birds might miss. The smell of the salt water of the ocean and fish along with the sound of ocean vessels is so great to hear, especially if you live inland and this is a rare trip to the ocean.

Another great part of Bandon is its easy access to the beach. Several different state parks are along Bandon's coast and all have their own fine points. Cranberry growers make their living off growing the tart little berry in Bandon's mild climate. Along Highway 101 north and south of town you will find the bogs, recognizable by the red color to them, all over and during harvest time the town will be busy with growers delivering their crop to local processors.

Just remember to bring your jacket or wind breaker along since Bandon is known for its sometimes brisk breeze and temperatures in the 50s and 60s most of the year. A nice place to beat the inland heat in the summer and escape the cold of the winter.
