How To Get Beautiful Healthy Looking Skin: Treating Redness And Marks

There are ways to keep your skin looking beautiful and healthy by treating skin conditions such as redness and marks.

I'm sure almost everyone has heard the old adage: Beauty is only skin deep. If this is true, let's find out how we can keep our skin looking beautiful by treating redness and marks.

To begin with, we need to find out what components actually make up our skin.

The skin is our body's largest organ and contains two main layers, the epidermis and the dermis. The epidermis is the outer layer of skin that protects the skin from bacteria, dirt, and other particles. The dermis is the inner layer that supplies blood and oxygen to the skin.

The skin also regulates our body's temperature and acts as a sensor to any external factors of pollution, sunlight, and stress.

Several different factors such as aging, dryness, moisture, and diet, can affect your skin's condition.

If we take a closer look at these factors as the cause of possible skin conditions, such as redness and marks on the skin, we can also treat the problem with several remedies.

First of all, as your skin ages the skin becomes less hydrated and therefore requires moisturizers to keep it from drying and flaking. When the skin dries out there is a tendency for dry, irritated, red patches and marks to occur on your skin.

To treat the redness and marks that may occur on your skin, a regimen of healthy skin care is needed every day for your skin.

The first thing is to find a non-abrasive skin cleanser to cleanse your skin in the morning and at night. Typically, a hypoallergenic cleansing cream for the face as well as, a mild, moisturizing wash for the body can be used. Avoid scrubbing the face or body if you are prone to redness or marks as this may worsen the skin irritation. Try to apply a gentle, circular motion using a soft cloth. If you exfoliate your skin, try doing this less frequently as this also can contribute to irritating any skin problems you may have.

After you have cleansed your face and body, always apply a moisturizer. When using moisturizers for the face, it's best to use hypoallergenic moisturizers as they will decrease your chance of any irritation from the product.

Secondly, if you have applied makeup to your face, always wash your face before bedtime and then apply your night moisturizer. A night cream is preferable to a moisturizing lotion since it is more concentrated.

Another point to watch is your diet; this may have contributed to redness and marks occurring on your skin. Make sure there isn't a certain food that may be causing a skin allergy. Monitor what you eat each day and if you notice an increase of redness or marks on a certain day, jot down what you have eaten for that day.

A good habit to start would be to remember to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, this also helps to hydrate your skin and keep it looking healthy.

Keep in mind that stress can also play a part in unwanted skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, and acne. If you have tried everything and your skin conditions of redness and marks are not clearing up, you may want to consult a dermatologist for some professional advice.

Your skin is such an important and vital organ in your body that you want to keep it in the best possible condition you can and avoid any adverse conditions such as redness and marks.

Hopefully, with an improved skin cleansing and moisturizing regimen, diet, and avoiding stress, any skin disorders will clear up so that you can look forward to years of healthy looking skin.
