Pheromones: you've seen them online for sale as sexual attractants, but do these products really make the opposite sex flock to your side? Find out what they are and how they work.
Pheromones are chemicals released by insects and animals that are intended to send signals and information to members of the same species. These odorless substances were first discovered in the 1950s through experiments with various kinds of moths. For most animals, pheromones serve to attract mates during the breeding season. Other processes controlled by pheromones are generally associated with the reproductive system in some way.
Few scientific studies have been done to test whether human pheromones are effective as sexual attractants. Those that have been conducted give surprisingly positive results. Women who used perfume laced with human pheromone chemicals reported more incidents of sexual behavior (kissing, touching, and so on) than those who wore a placebo. The women with the pheromones also stated that they noticed more men approaching them in social situations.
Curious, I decided to test these theories out for myself. I purchased a small bottle of "perfume additive" from an online source, spritzed some on, and went out for an evening on the town. I'm usually a skeptic, but I was honestly impressed with the results. More men than usual seemed to want to talk to me, and they tended to stay longer. A friend borrowed my "perfume" and had a similar experience. She decided to buy a bottle of pheromones as well.
How much does this stuff cost? The bottle I bought was around $100, but it lasts a long time because you only need a little. I've seen much lower prices for some brands on eBay. Try using Google to search around for the best price. A caveat: make sure you're buying the right type for the gender you want to attract - the chemicals that attract men are different from those who attract women.
Human pheromone additives are not going to make every eligible man or woman flock to your side the moment you come through the door, but they might just offer an extra boost in today's competitive dating scene. Have fun!
