Pheromones are chemicals released by insects and animals that are intended to send signals and information to members of the same species. These odorless substances were first discovered in the 1950s through experiments with various kinds of moths. For most animals, pheromones serve to attract mates during the breeding season. Other processes controlled by pheromones are generally associated with the reproductive system in some way.

It's a well-documented fact that pheromones have a powerful effect on insects and animals, but could they work on humans as well? Some studies suggest that they could. A caveat: make sure you're buying the right type for the gender you want to attract - the chemicals that attract men are different from those who attract women.
