We have about 50 bed-and-breakfasts and there is any amenity that you could possibly think of. Some are right in the heart of the city where you can walk to the downtown, some are in little more residential area, some are out in the country in more secludes areas. There is everything from simple little cottages to very elaborate, very ornate mansions. For the most part these homes were built in 1840s, 1850s, and 1860s and have been lovingly restored by their current owners with everything from antiques to contemporary décor. They serve everything you could imagine in terms of gourmet breakfast and a lot of them serve wine and cheese in the afternoon or dessert in the evening. I know many of the owners on a personal level and I have to say they love what they do.
Definitely during our high season, you need to book in advance to get the lodging of your first choice. Our staff at the visitor center tracks availability of the lodging properties. They track about seven weeks out and they can assist you in finding availability on our busy weekends.
