How Do You Know If You Are Being Attacked By A Negative Spirit?

How do you know if you are being attacked by a negative spirit? Negative spirits rarely possess people; instead, they will be a constant burden on your life. Everyone experiences bad feelings: anger, disappointment,...

Everyone experiences bad feelings: anger, disappointment, fear, self-hatred, among others. At the times those feelings don't go away, or when a person doesn't seem in full control of what they feel or think, that may be a sign a person or is under attack by an evil spirit.

"Sometimes people get the impression that not all of the thoughts are their own," says Jeffrey Seelman, a world-renowned psychic and exorcist, who started up Starclear (www.starclear.com) in 1999.

When someone gets this feeling, he says, they may require an exorcism, the casting out of an evil or negative spirit attacking a person, a home, or even a business.

"Some of the communication a person may be receiving mentally could be coming from another source," he says. "If this source seems to communicate negative feelings or negative emotion, it is possible that a negative spirit has taken an interest in this person."

But these negative feelings and emotions may not be caused by possession, the exorcist says. Possession, in which an evil spirit attaches itself to a person, doesn't happen as its portrayed in the movies ,although if outside conditions exist, sometimes events like telekinesis or even levitation may occur.

"Possession is very rare," he says. "What is far more common is a negative or evil spirit attacking an individual."

And to end a spirit attack, a person or place would require an exorcism, he says.

What happens is that the spirit tries through emotional or psychological contact to influence the free will of an individual, he says.

One sign that points to an attack is the feeling of the presence of a secondary spirit around the person, he says.
Some people he has talked to have described actual unexplainable physical events occurring, he says. "People call me up, and they will report that clocks fall off the walls or pictures fall off the wall."

Some have even reported being pushed downstairs or across the room, he says. "Others have reported seeing the outline of people or feeling some kind of being next to them or in their room. Sometimes, it can happen when they are sleeping. So these are some signs."

But, before a person contacts an exorcist such as himself, or before they seek an exorcist's help in any way, Seelman recommends that individual first seek some kind of counseling

Seelman, in fact, makes certain a person consulting him has sought some kind of counseling.

"I ask the questions 'have you been treated by a psychologist, psychiatrist or counselor for any of these symptoms?'" he says. "A good exorcist always rules out any kind of mental illness, mental confusion, or misinterpretation of the event."

Once Seelman determines a person is mentally healthy, then he goes about his business of performing an exorcism.

"Generally, I have to filter out the people who have a legitimate spiritual infestation in their home, business, or their person with people who are misinformed or confused as to what is going in their life," he says.
