What Is The Benefit Of Having A Programmable Thermostat?

What is the benefit of having a programmable thermostat? You can have the unit running less cycles and conserving energy when no one is home and have it start to cool before you get home. It is cheap and very efficient.

I would highly recommend people look at programmable thermostats very seriously. They can save you so much money on electricity bills. When you go to work, you can turn it up during the summer. At 8:30 in the morning, you can set it at about 80-81.? Then, at 4:30 or so, you can set it to start cooling down the home before you get home. We all have schedules of some sort. Most people follow a certain rhythm in their life. There is no reason why you cannot have your thermostat sort of anticipate some of those things. If you program it, the thermostat will take care of it for you because we all get in a hurry sometimes. We will set that because sometimes we are in hurry and we forget to do that. While you're at work, your thermostat has cycled far less frequently than I would have if you set it at a constant temperature. To me, this is worth platinum. It is a real cheap thing to do.
