The benefits are the same in many ways as they are for adults. It helps to develop concentration, makes the body healthy, strengthens the body, and gives flexibility. Kids aren't always flexible. I have taught two year olds who are extremely stiff. From culture to culture it varies, because some cultures are more physical with their children than others. I'm sure you'll find people within a culture who are more physical or less physical with their children. I am just saying that, generally speaking, that has been my experience. Some cultures may focus more in academics and piano as where another culture might focus more on dancing or sports. Yoga is excellent for children, because it really does help them to become strong and flexible and to be more in tune with their body.
