Bisbee is set in the mountains. We don't have a lot of traffic, so it's a bird paradise because the birds just have all these trees, mountains and shrubs to be in. I forget now how many species of birds, but there are several hundred that come here because the San Pedro River Riparian district is about seven miles west of here. It's a major field fair for the birds either going north for the summer or south for the winter. So that's probably one of the reasons that we have so many birds.
An elegant trogon is one of the birds found here, and those birds aren't found everywhere. Here they are found in the Coronado National Forest. Garden Canyon is where they usually hang out, but they are very large birds and they are very colorful and very beautiful. So that's something that we have and then right here in Bisbee we have a place called the Southeastern Bird Observatory. They have humming birds and all kinds of unique things with and for birds.
