Another idea is when they bring the bread basket to your table at the restaurant, immediately order a green salad, a plate of raw veggies or some grilled veggies that you can eat when other people are eating their bread. Of course cutting back on bread is not only going to help control weight but it also helps to enhance energy because refined bread products tend to increase your blood sugar right away and then cause it to dip. When you do eat breads and crackers as such you want to make sure that these are 100% whole grain or 100% stone ground products. If you see a product and you look at the ingredient list sometimes the front of the package will say whole grain but then when you go back and look at the ingredient list the first item on the ingredient list is unbleached wheat flour, enriched flour or wheat flour and all three of those things mean white flour.
