Breathing exercises are a great help with relaxation and with focus during pregnancy and of course when you are giving birth. Most exercise routines help you practice breathing. Breathing helps get you through the contractions of labor because that's kind of difficult in itself. Breathing is just a way of calming yourself. But also there are some breathing exercises where you actually, by expanding and contracting the diaphragm and the muscles that go around it, actually strengthen some of your core muscles.
