Buffalo is at the eastern most end of Lake Erie at the source of the Niagara River. Lake Erie flows into the Niagara River, which leads to Niagara Falls and on to Lake Ontario. Buffalo is situated in the western most portion of New York state and is about 400 miles from New York City. Interstate 90 is the main link east and west out of Buffalo.
Buffalo-Niagara International Airport features most major carriers. There is also Amtrak Service available with a station in suburban Buffalo (Depew) and downtown on Exchange Street. There is bus service through Greyhound as well.
