Camping sites in Florida along with rules and regulations to help you plan your outdoor adventure.

Florida has basic camping rules, much like other states. Some of the rules are:

1. No digging of any kind

2. All campfires are to be maintained and supervised at all times

3. Sites set up as designated

4. Park only were designated

5. Road ways are usually one way

6. Coolers etc. are to be covered during the day

7. Trash to be in plastic bags and put in dumpsters

8. No unauthorized discharge weapons

9. No firearms to be fired

10. No cutting of wood

11. Campgrounds are not responsible for any damage, loss of property, or injury

12. Pets are not allowed in many campgrounds

Florida has thousands of getaways. State Parks have some beautiful campgrounds such as



Bahia Honda State Park, which is, located 37 miles from Key West, Florida. It is a 524-acre island with 2.5 miles of sand and palm trees. It is rated one of the Top 100 family campgrounds in the United States, and it features three different campgrounds in the park. Buttonwood can accommodate a varity of camping rigs from a large RV to a small tent. These sites have very little shade but are the largest sites. They all have electricity, water, a picnic table and grill. There are also a bathhouse for hot showers and a dumping station for sewage. Sandspur has the most beautiful sites but they are very small so ternts or small pop-ups only. All of these sights have a picnic table, grill, water, and some have electricity. Bayside is the smallest with only eight sites and no electricity. Each site has a picnic table, grill and water. There is a small bathhouse with a cold outside shower but campers are welcome to use the other bathhouses for warm showers. Park activities include guided walks with a ranger giving nature talks, a nature center, marina, snack bar, and gift shop, equipment rentals including kayaks, and snorkeling gear, and boat trips. Visitors can swim at one of the three beaches; Calusa is the smallest, Loggerhead is the shallowest, and Sandspur with pavilions and grills. Bird watching is a favorite pasttime. You might see a Willet, Ruddy Turnstone, a Great White Heron, Great Blue Heron, Snowy Egret, or during the fall hawk migration, you will see a variety of hawks soaring overhead. The park also features two modern boat ramps with 19 slips available. Cabins are also available at this park. Each of the six units is furnished with kitchen appliances, utensils, and linens, a full bath, central A/Cand have, two bedrooms, and a living room. Each cabin can accommodate up to six people, the cabin has porch and deck with a picnic table. State parks are open 365 days a year form 8a.m. until sundown.

Fort Wilderness Resort and Camprund of Walt Disney World is located in the Magic Kingdom area of Wald Disney world. The campground provides campsites for tents, all types of RV's or stay in an air-conditioned cabin. The cabins are air-conditioned and sleep six. These are fully equipped kitchens and the have cable TV and VCR, a picnic table with a charcoal grill, and daily housekeeping is provided. When you need a rest from all of the disney attractions you can come back to Fort Wilderness and relax at one of the two swimming pools or go horseback riding, play at the arcades, go for a horse-drawn carraige ride, a wagon ride, or the kids can play at the playground while you sit and watch or they can ride the ponies. There are pontoon boats, Canopy boats, Sea Racers, bicycles for rent.There is also a jogging trail or you can watch videos. You can also fish at Fort wilderness.There is a resturarnt, tavern, and dinner shows available. Fortwilderness also provides a guest service desk, babysitting and child services, laundry facilities/services.

Anastasia State Park St. Augustine, Florida. Most visitors do not realize that it is just a short drive to Fort Mose the first black community in the United States. St. Augustine is abundant with history. Many people wonder what the area is like after all the hurricanes last year. Apparently it was not too hard on the park. There was some beach erosion but there are still miles of beautiful beaches. Anastasia State Park is a full facility park with 139 sites equipped for both tent campers and Rvers. Each site has a picnic table, an in-ground grill, fire ring, water and electricity if needed. None have sewer hookups but there is a dump station. Most sites are within walking distance to the beach. Camping supplies can be purchased at the concession store as well as ice; firewood, bicycles, beach/water equipment and recreationsl equipment are available. Activites available are bicycling, boating, campfire circle. Canoeing, concessions, fishing, beaches, picnicking, swimming with lifeguards on duty, and wildlife viewing are available. Pet camping is available.
