Placement is really important, placement of the building itself, where it's located. Where the cash register is located should be in the power position or command position, which is diagonal from the front door so that once your consumers or your clients come in the door, they see the the cash register to the right. This would be in a retail setting, but also in any kind of helping profession.

If you have a lot of consultations with massage therapists, it's really important that the massage table is placed in a safe command position for the person on the table, because they are vulnerable. So placement, I think is one of the most important things for enhancing your business. Other ideas might be painting the door a bright color. In China it is traditional to paint businesses with a red door, and that's to help attract attention, so you stand out.

Depending on the business, you want to keep people coming back. You want their experience to be really enhanced. So thinking about a greeter, "What does the client see when they first walk in? Do they see someone? Maybe they see a plant or a table with flowers on it, or maybe a water feature to bring in the money or the abundance." It's important for someone to walk in and not just see a wall.

What we always try to create, is a divine space or sacred space, so that an area has a quality of reverence and respect. If you do that for your client, your client will feel happy and will come back. There are so many professionals, for example lawyers and doctors. Many of us feel nervous when we go into their offices. We feel vulnerable. It's important to create an environment of safety and comfort.

Another thing is watching, looking at plant material, either indoor house plants or exterior landscapes. If there are dead plants or dead leaf branches, that makes people feel uncomfortable on a psychological level. A lot of it is subtle, but it's picked up by our senses, which are tuned down to subtle cues. So try to pay attention to all the subtle cues and subtle things.
