Yes. There is the old adage of the good doctor will prevent disease before it comes and so can a massage therapist. I would always encourage people to get a regular massage. No matter what the system of medicine, it's often times best to use it as a preventative rather than waiting until a problem has surfaced.
Often times we know we have a problem but wait until it really emerges and surfaces and we see the total physical discomfort and pain. We will wait until excruciating pain before we seek help. If a man where facing a lifetime of ills went to the doctor and wanted to be cured in one treatment, it just couldn't happen that way. The preventative is always the best and so I would say regular massages can be very beneficial to one's health and even when somebody is in acute or having a chronic problem. Finding a very skilled therapist can be very beneficial to address, treat and correct a lot of imbalances and disharmonies in the body.
Some people that are financially able will be able to get one if not two treatments a week. Others may be able to afford them once a month. Others may be able afford them once every six months. It really just varies on that. But there are a lot of different possibilities out there. Some massage therapists are really good about working on a sliding scale. They want to make themselves available even for those that are financially challenged and that simply can't afford to get a massage. For many westerners massage is a luxury, whereas in other parts of the world often times massage is considered a regular form of medicine. It's built right in there.
