Yes. We have this sort of rule of thumb where there are certain things we know how to do. A good massage therapist, who is a certified or licensed, should know to the limits of their practice and refer people to doctors when that is a really the appropriate thing to do at that time. A lot of times when a person is first injured, if it is at all serious, they shouldn't come to the massage therapist first (generally speaking). And a good massage therapist will be able to tell whether that's the case or not. A lot of massage therapists work with chiropractors and physical therapists and even doctors, either by referrals or right in the office sometimes with doctors. Massage therapists can help a lot with neck pain or neck injuries.
