I don't know that we'll always know, but there are some signs that you can look for. If your partner is much more distant than they typically are, or if they are saying, "Honey, I've got to work like late again tonight," "I've got a business meeting," or "I've got another business trip," more than usual, or if your partner all of a sudden starts taking more interest in their appearance without having sex with you, you can just ask them if they're having an affair. I think you know you are not going to get an honest response right at that moment, but you have let the other person know you're on to them and have your suspicions. You don't even have to say, "Are you having an affair?" You can say it in a respectful way and speak from your own self. Say, "I am noticing you've had a lot of meeting at work lately. We haven't had any sex, I feel very distant from you, and I actually was even thinking the other night that maybe you were having an affair." You don't have to come right out and say, "Are you cheating on me?"
