Ceramics work primarily by reflecting heat back to the source. That is what they are the absolute best at. For a hot climate, the way to approach it would be to stop the heat as near the source as possible. The number one thing you can do is use a quality insulating roof coating that has a big load of ceramics in it. This stops it from heating up your roof materials.

The second approach is using our very unique radiant barrier coating that is applied to the back side of the attic decking. Radiant barriers are becoming very, very popular. They came out of California a couple of years ago. Radiant barriers are typically made of an aluminum in a foil form. We give the world an option of having a radiant barrier in a coating form because it has a high concentration of aluminum, but it also has the added benefit of ceramics. So, approach number one would mean painting the roof with ceramics. If for some reason, they cannot do that, then approach number two is the Radiant barrier coat on the inside of the attic decking. Of course, then you would paint all of the exterior walls of the home with ceramics.
