I look at the historical models to try to make it as if I was doing a new Victorian. I would do high ceilings, because of the massing and proportions of a Victorian are generally vertical. You try to proportion the house and then it requires the detailing of wood work. Often times, somebody will take a regular house and they will stick some gingerbread on it and call it Victorian. Well it's not exactly the case. Victorians had a craftsmanship all its own. It mainly had a vertical proportion. There was also a mixing of colors and uses of different textures, but it was generally woodwork that historically set it apart- and then colors on that also.
