About Chemo Hair Regrowth ProductsOne of the common side effects of chemotherapy is hair loss. This can range from a mild thinning of the hair and patches of baldness to complete baldness. It is not possible to know in advance how much hair loss will affect you, because people react differently to the treatment. Although many people understandably fear this hair loss, it is not permanent--the hair will re-grow following the chemo treatment. There are also some chemo hair regrowth products that you can use to reverse hair loss.
ThymuSkin
Unlike other hair loss products, ThymuSkin not only causes new hair to grow, but does not have to be used for the rest of your life. Clinical studies (see Resources below) have shown a 95 percent success rate for women and 67 percent for men in successfully stimulating the growth of new hair (see Resources below). ThymuSkin can be used to restore lost hair in chemotherapy patients as well as prevent hair loss in the first place. This chemo hair regrowth product also has the added benefit of boosting the immune system.
Dr. Lewenberg's Formula
This treatment was designed to repair the damage from chemotherapy. It works by repairing the adult stem cells connected to the hair follicles, thus stimulating them and causing new hair growth, as well as increasing the flow of blood to the area. You can start using the formula in a matter of days after finishing chemotherapy. While this chemo hair regrowth product is safe to use after treatment, it must not be used during treatment.
Rogaine
Also called Minoxidil, Rogaine has been shown to speed up hair regrowth of patients who have lost hair following chemotherapy, and it may also slow down the hair loss process if you use it during the treatment. It does sometimes cause irritation of your scalp, however, and can cause low blood pressure and speed up heart rate, so you should consult a doctor if you have heart problems.
Hair Fantastique
Start applying Hair Fantastique's Wonder Hair Treatment range to your scalp a week or more before you start chemotherapy treatment in order to keep hair loss to a minimum, and possibly even prevent it altogether. This chemo hair regrowth product also has the effect of speeding up the process of re-growth after chemotherapy. Hair also grows back strong and healthy. Leimo
This Australian system combines a cold laser treatment with special shampoo and conditioner called Leimo's Scalp Therapy and Serum. It is designed to stimulate the growth of new hair by increasing blood flow to the hair follicles. These chemo hair regrowth products are made from natural ingredients. You do not have to attend a clinic for the laser treatment, because you buy your own laser appliance and use it in your own home (see Resources below).
