Choosing a bra. A woman's lingerie wordrobe should include a stretch bra, a sports bra, a strapless bra, a push-up bra, and a sexy evening bra to show more cleavage. I always say that there are five bras...
I always say that there are five bras every woman should own, and all of them are quite different. The number one aspects are comfort, support, and shape.
The first bra you should have is your weekend or T-shirt bra with smooth lines. I think the best option is a two-way stretch foam bra because it gives you comfort, shaping and opacity, and it stretches up and down and side to side. If your breasts are not even in size as most aren't, it will actually mold to your body making you look perfectly even.
Second, I always think every woman should have a specialty bra or evening bra, that has a long line for special occasions if you want to wear it under your dress or something like that. A long line bra gives you bra support and tummy control, because normally they end around your bellybutton giving you a smooth line. It works for backless tops or dresses, because they are lower in the back. We have one that has stretch foam in it which gives you the same features as the t-shirt bra, but with added tummy control, smooth lines, and shaping.
Third, I think everybody needs a strapless bra. When you're choosing a strapless bra, the most important feature is security, because you don't want it falling to the floor when you're walking. We have a fabulous strapless bra with a unique feature that we called the Stay There Power Band. This power band ensures that the bra stays in place, because it has an extra piece of elastic that holds it in place. It is very comfortable. You can jump up and down, and it's not going anywhere.
Next, women need a push-up bra. Many ladies love the push-up bra. Not only does it give your cleavage a boost, but it gives you that confidence to feel sexy and great. I would choose a push-up bra for a low-cut shirt or dress. It's padded and has more of a push giving you that natural swell. Maidenform has three degrees of push. It has gentle for everyday use, middle is the maximum everyday push, and for special occasions we have one called the extreme push that makes you very happy! It has a bump pad that doesn't make you look artificial.
Finally, the fifth one I think every woman should own is a kind of a hybrid. It's what I call a deep plunge bra that has a deep V-neck in the front. It could be sort of your T-shirt bra, but with a deep plunge. It is so comfortable that you can wear with low cut sweaters or anything with Vs in the front. There are some great two-way stretch foam ones. It gives you opacity, but it's a little bit sexier, because it has low V.
