How to Clean HP Laser Printers

HP laser printers have been the workhorse of the printer industry for many years. The consumer version of the HP printer ways less than 20 pounds and can print 15 pages per minute. With a 150-sheet capacity, thorough cleaning methods must be used to maintain printing quality and hardware durability.

Step 1

Shut off the power and unplug the printer.
Step 2

Locate the toner cartridge by opening the printer lid. Remove the toner cartridge.

Step 3

Clean the paper paper, which is the path the paper travels while printing, with a printer cleaning sheet.
Step 4

Remove and clean the pinch rollers. These rollers are located at the beginning and end of the paper path. There are four rollers at each end.
Step 5

Remove the transfer roller, which is below the fuser. The fuser is recessed in the back of the printer.
Step 6

Use a lint-free cloth to wipe the inside of the entire printer.
Step 7

Clean the plastic paper feed guide. The feed guide is located at the exit, where the printer expels the paper.
