Step 1
Pat the urine area with white paper towels, if the area is still wet. White paper towels are used so they do not transfer dye to the mattress pad. Keep patting the urine area, using fresh paper towels as needed, until the paper towels no longer become saturated with urine.
-
Step 2
Spray an enzyme-based pet stain remover on the urine stain. Thoroughly saturate the urine stain with the enzyme spray, but do not soak the area. Enzyme-based pet stain removers effectively remove human urine stains as well as pet stains. Enzyme-based cleaners are non-toxic and environmentally friendly.
-
Step 3
Allow the enzyme-based pet stain remover to stay on the mattress pad for one minute.
-
Step 4
Pat the urine stain area with clean white paper towels. Continue patting the area, using fresh paper towels when needed, until the paper towels no longer become saturated.
-
Step 5
Repeat steps 2 through 4 if the urine stain is still visible. Older stains that have settled in to the mattress pad may require multiple treatments.
-
Step 6
Leave the mattress uncovered until it is fully dry.
