Step 1
Cleanse your face twice daily. Use a gentle cleanser that is appropriate for your skin type. A good cleanser will remove makeup, excess oil and debris, all of which contribute to acne.
-
Step 2
Dab your acne with hydrogen peroxide. This common household item can work as a toner or astringent for your skin. As it's a disinfectant, it will help to clear up bacteria that can lead to acne. It will also dry out excess oils, making your skin less susceptible to acne. Dip a cotton ball in hydrogen peroxide and swipe it over your acne.
-
Step 3
Drink plenty of water. Water helps to flush toxins and bacteria from your body, thereby making skin appear fresher and healthier. Aim to consume at least 64 ounces of water daily.
-
Step 4
Do not touch your acne. Oil, dirt and bacteria from your fingers can quickly worsen your existing acne. Keep your hair pulled back from acne-prone areas as well. You should never squeeze or pick acne as this can exacerbate your acne and even lead to scarring.
-
Step 5
Place an ice cube on your acne. This will help to cool and soothe the irritated area. Apply the ice cube for 30 to 60 seconds every 20 minutes until irritation subsides.
-
Step 6
Create a paste, using equal parts baking soda and water. Apply the paste to your acne, and leave it on the area for one hour before rinsing it off. Baking soda absorbs excess oil and bacteria, leading to clear skin. Use the mixture on your skin every three to four days until your acne is gone.

Step 7
Get daily exercise. Cardiovascular exercise improves circulation. This allows nutrients to reach your skin creating a healthy and clear skin appearance.
