Tom and Jerry: This drink requires a bit of preparation, but is well worth it. It is a sweet, holiday favorite that can be enjoyed by everyone"¦just leave out the alcohol for the kids! You will need the following ingredients to make your Tom and Jerry:

3 eggs (separated)

3 Tbsp powdered sugar

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground cloves

1/2 tsp allspice

4 oz dark rum

4 oz brandy

Hot water

Beat the egg whites until they become stiff and frothy. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks until they become lighter in color. Add in the powdered sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and allspice and mix gently. Then, take the yolk, sugar, and spice mixture and fold it into the beaten whites. Add the dark rum and brandy to the mixture, and then pour the mixture into mugs. This recipe should make enough to fill four mugs. Once the mixture is in the mugs, fill to the top with hot water. Mix well and enjoy!

Hot Toddy: Not only is this drink delicious, but it is also rumored to help out with the common cold. Considering the ingredients, it might be true! To make a Hot Toddy, make sure you have the following ingredients on hand:

2 oz brandy

6 oz hot tea

1 Tbsp honey

1 lemon wedge

In a mug, combine tea, brandy, and honey. Stir until honey is fully dissolved. Add the lemon wedge to the mug and enjoy!

Hot Chocolate: This beverage is definitely a winter favorite. Although hot chocolate mixes are inexpensive and easy to make, there's nothing like a hot cup of homemade hot chocolate to sip around the fireplace. If you want to make your own homemade hot chocolate, make sure you have these ingredients:

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

¾ cup sugar

1/3 cup hot water

3 1/2 cups milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup light cream

1 tsp ground cinnamon

In a medium sized saucepan, combine cocoa and sugar. Then add the hot water and stir, eventually bringing the concoction to a near boil. Simmer the mixture until the sugar and cocoa are dissolved completely. Then add the milk, stir, and heat thoroughly. Do not bring this mixture to a boil, but bring it as close to a boil as you can. Then, add the vanilla and ground cinnamon. Stir until thoroughly mixed. You should have enough hot chocolate for four servings. Separate the hot chocolate into four mugs, and top them off with the light cream to cool them down and make the hot chocolate even richer. Feel free to add marshmallows or whipped cream sprinkled with cocoa powder to make this drink really special!

Hot Apple Cider: Although apple cider is commonly found in the autumn months, it still makes a wonderful winter treat. Many supermarkets sell packages of mulling spices, which can be added to a cup of cider and be put in the microwave. To make your own homemade cup, however, start off with these ingredients:

4 cups apple cider

2 sticks of cinnamon

2 tsp orange zest

1 Tbsp brown sugar

1/2 tsp cloves

1/2 tsp allspice

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and heat until the sugar is dissolved. Lower the heat and then simmer for 20 minutes. Be careful to not burn the cider! Solid ingredients (cloves, allspice, and cinnamon) can be removed from the liquid using a strainer. Then, your apple cider is ready! This recipe should make four mugs full of cider.

Hopefully you will enjoy these recipes. Remember: every recipe is your own, so toy around with it until you achieve a flavor that suits you the best!
