Credit reports and credit scores influence all sorts of decisions like employment, purchasing or renting a home, and getting insurance. Its use has been expanded well beyond loans and credit cards. There are certain industries like law enforcement, financial services, and the gaming industry that require a financial background check for employment. It provides a snapshot of what has gone on in your life that may be of relevance. It is a very controversial subject when it comes to privacy. With issues such as divorce and fraud, I don't really think that's a reflection of somebody's life. Sometimes too, people are young when they make mistakes. They grow up and want to start taking control of their lives, so I think they should be rewarded in that sense. How can they do so if they can't get a job? Somebody's financial situation can be relevant in certain industries, but not all.
