There are 50 campsites in this 297 acre park, and all can accommodate RV's or tents. Local rivers are stocked with trout in the spring and freely fishable by all. This park features high bluffs, five nature trails, and public access to the waterway. This area is also home to large numbers of bald eagles, cliff swallows and wild turkeys.

As soon as the snow begins to fall in the midwest, X-Country skiers dominate this northern Illinois hotspot. With 3, 092 acres to explore, this is a fun area! Skiers of all skill levels will enjoy the multitude of trails, some groomed, some ready to be cut. Skiers are advised to steer clear of marked snowmobile trails, for safety reasons.

This park is free of charge and open year round. Abundant wildlife, clear water and a trail system that stretches for miles across both sides of the Kankakee River make this a favorite spot for serious skiers. On the river's north side are the most popular X-Country trails, all groomed and packed down. Perfect for all skill levels.

Located in east central Illinois, the Wolf Creek State Park is open to the public year round, and free of charge. Groomed hiking trails are converted to ski trails in the winter months. A 15 mile trail that travels through woods and around wildlife makes for a nice day trip for moderately talented skiers. Note: Shotgun hunting is allowed during winter months in certain areas of this park. See the Park Ranger when entering and follow signs carefully.

Pine trees and limestone bluffs dot this 385 acre park. Five miles of ski trails allow users to get up close to birds and wildlife. Paved roads are also used by beginning skiers. This is a small, quiet park that's more relaxing than challenging.

Located in western Illinois on 1,700 acres of land, Argyle Lake State Park has five miles of rugged, wooded trails. Snowmobiles share this park, so caution is urged. Park officials allow you to forge your own path through the park or follow the short jaunt through the woods. Medium skill levers skiers will enjoy this wooded hideaway.
