The City of Lewes has a bay beach. It's a waveless beach since it's located on the bay and not the ocean. It's very popular for small children. It's also nice for kayakers and canoers because the waters are calm.
There is a metered parking lot adjacent to the beach but there's no cost to enter the beach.

There are houses on the beach but they are setback behind the dunes. On a clear day you can see across to Cape May and there is a ferry that goes between Lewes and Cape May.
