Acupressure is the hands-on approach to the acupuncture points and acupuncture point is the point that is going to be needled by an acupuncture needle, just the puncture of the skin and the insertion of the sterile acupuncture needle. Whereas a TuiNa practitioner is going to stimulate, sedate or support that particular point not with an acupunctural needle but through hand manipulations. It may be called the rolling technique. Tui means to push and Na means to grasp, TuiNa. There are many, many different types of hand techniques that may be used or other tools that will be used to support or reinforce that particular acupuncture point. I tend to refer to them as acupuncture point even though I do not use acupuncture needles just because the term acupressure is so generic but that be the biggest difference. Acupuncture point is the point that is needled. The same exact point by a shiatsu practitioner or a TuiNa practitioner would be treated as the acupressure point to press on that point to stimulate.
