You got striking arts. Karate and Japanese Okinawa are forms of striking art. Then you have Korean striking arts like tae kwon do. A lot of those have become more sport oriented and combat oriented. And then you have judo, which is a Japanese grappling art. And then you have jujitsu, which is like taking karate and judo and putting it together, but it's not supposed to be sport oriented. It's more combative in nature. It incorporates striking, blocking, and joint locking, throwing, and fighting from standing up and ground fighting. But jujitsu in recent years has been made popular by the Brazilian jujitsu craze by the Gracies. The Gracies and all his families are into jujitsu and they have turned it into a sport now. That's what the no-holds-barred fighting is and that's what the Gracie challenge was, where they go on an octagon and fight.

That's what jujitsu has become known as, a sport. They say it has no rules, but it obviously does have rules. It is never two or three on one or a surprise attack. It definitely is a sport.
