The disadvantage would be that it doesn't handle situations where liquids are spilled on it. It's probably one of the more expensive types of flooring to install. If its not properly cared for, it can be damaged; they are not typically scratch resistant. While people love their hardwood floors, their typically biggest complaint is that hardwood scratches. Our product Crystal Shield helps a little bit with that, but wood by its nature is susceptible to scratches and those sorts of things. And you can only do so much to it and still be able to get the natural beauty of the wood without clouding the finish. Typically, the amount of aluminum oxide that you would have to put on that to resist scratching to that degree would cloud the finish. We have a series of long strip products that are glueless and they are very long seven foot boards and they have pre-assembled planks in some cases. But it has what we call a Crystal Shield ceramic finish, which is a more durable finish because it has microscopic ceramic articles infused in the aluminum oxides. So there is some varying degrees but it also adds additional color to the floor. You really get what you pay for with hardwood flooring.
