We always get somebody that gets bitten by a bat, and it is usually somebody finding a grounded bat on the ground and picking it up. People constantly ask me about getting a bat house in their backyard. That's not a good idea in my opinion. If you have a cat or dog, it is a very bad idea. You have to make sure that you are constantly vaccinating your pet. Also, you have to be careful with kids. Your kids get fascinated no matter how many times you tell them not to do that. There is a chance that your kid will find a bat on the ground flopping around. If that's the case, the bat is sick. He is rabid. The kid picks it up and then we have a problem.
