Inspirational items are an important part of many homes. Families choose to display items to affirm their faith, assist in coping with the stressors of everyday life, or remind them of commitments made. Sometimes it is difficult to decide the best place to put an item in order to accent its meaning, significance within the household, and beauty. Placement of inspirational or religious items within the home should be logical and thought out, and practical. You want to display in an area of the home where family members can gain meaning and enjoy the beauty of the item. Entryways, kitchens, dining rooms, family or living rooms and personal bedrooms are all popular places to display inspirational items.

Steve Shadrick, Vice President of Consumer Marketing and Judith Vap, Marketing Communications Manager for Inspirations.com suggest, "Make it speak to your heart."

Items meaningful to the entire family should be placed in highly used common areas. Steve Shadrick and Judith Vap advise, "The family room would be an ideal place for a cross, if that faith is quite a part of your family. If the rosary is a compelling piece of your spiritual life, we have rosaries that you can display on a wall."

For people of the Jewish faith, a Star of David could be displayed. Oftentimes, those who follow the Buddhist religion will display a statue of the Buddha in the entryway or main living area of their home.

Children's rooms are a popular area of the home to place inspirational items. For these areas Steve and Judith suggest, "Night lights, water dome musicals, rocking chairs, and picture frames that are a nice combination of fun and inspiration."

When selecting an area of the home for display, you may want to consider what the item is made from. If you have small children, you may not want to place a fragile glass angel on the coffee table. For these situations, Steve and Judith recommend, "We have very beautiful seraphim angel figurines that might be used in the center of a table"

Items with special meaning to the couple are often displayed in the couple's bedroom. Steve and Judith say, "There are a lot of weddings that use the 'Love is patient, Love is kind' Biblical verse from I Corinthians. Many couples will incorporate that into their bedroom décor to remind them of their wedding and the vows they made to each other.

Other popular places to place spiritual items are the garden or front and back yards. There are a lot of pieces designed for this use. "We are seeing an increased interest in writings for the outdoors and representations of angels or saints. It's a very personal way to show your faith in your garden," say Steve and Judith.

Whether you choose to display your spiritual items indoors or out, choose those things which have deep meaning to your family and are relevant to your everyday life. The best places to display those items are in high traffic areas where they can be seen, enjoyed and considered by members of your family on a regular basis.
