Easy craft ideas: Tips and instructions on making and decorating cookie cutter picture frames - list of materials inculded as well.
Make ornament picture frames to hang on the tree, or hang in the windows on suction cups. Lay the cookie cutter on top of a child's photo or a picture of Santa. Trace the outline on the inside part of the cookie cutter. Move the cutter, cut out the picture and laminate. If you don't have a way to laminate, you can find sheets at the craft store that just peel and stick. Pull the first layer of the laminate up, place the photo, then lay the sheet back down. The laminate will stick to the picture. Cut the laminate in the shape of the picture. Use a small line of glue around the inside of the cookie cutter to hold the picture. A cotton swab works great for placing the glue. You can punch a hole in the top of the cookie cutter for hanging, or glue a hanger on, then ribbon.
String three or four of the cookie cutter picture frames together by using ribbon. Punch a hole in the top and bottom of each cookie cutter. Place the photos in and align them in a vertical row, on a table. Thread a piece of ribbon from the backside of the first cutter, behind the photo, through the top hole. Pull through, fold the ribbon over and pull it back through to the bottom of the hole. Place a dot of glue underneath to hold the ribbon in place. The ribbon will now have a loop at the top for hanging the finished craft. Bring the ribbon through the top of the next frame, behind the photo, and out through the bottom. Continue this pattern until all of the frames are threaded through the ribbon. Place a dot of glue on the back side, bottom hole of each ribbon to prevent it from sliding and hang.
You can use a small vase to make a plant stand by placing a few silk plants in the vase, then attaching a floral wire to a daisy or heart-shaped cookie cutter picture frame and placing it amongst the flowers. You can also use several of the frames on wire to make a stand-alone arrangement. Glue a toothpick holder to an upside-down saucer, then place several of the cookie cutter picture frames in the toothpick holder. Cut the wires different lengths so that the photos will stand after various heights. They will spread out and make a cute photo display.
Decorate the outside of the cookie cutters with paints, garland, pine branches, glitter, buttons, beads or other crafting items you have just lying around.
