When I go away on a business trip and I am dreaming about my father, on a psychological level it's because he represents the part of me that knows how to get on the plane and take care of business. I am dreaming about him because I need to get in touch with that part of myself. But on the other hand, how do I know that it's not really my father coming to lend me support. How do we know? We don't know. It could be his spirit. I am open; I don't believe in one thing, I believe in all of it. The reason why I wrote the book is because, in my experience over the last 30 years, I have found that I am eclectic in my approach to dreams and I want to share that. I think that we're very sophisticated and I think it's true that when I dream about my father, I am dreaming about him because I need to access that aspect of personality, but I'm also open to the possibility that he might be there literally.
