Drink Recipes For Halloween

Want to have a frighteningly fun Halloween? Then try one of these Halloween-inspired drinks at your next costume party!

Halloween is a time of year when children dress up as ghosts, goblins, ballerinas and princesses and go door to door asking for candies and treats until their bags are overfull. When the kids come home, gorge themselves on Snickers bars and fall asleep in sea of miniature candy wrappers, that is when the adults can go out and play. Some adults hire babysitters so they can go to a Halloween party while other adults simply rent a few horror movies, pop some popcorn and pour themselves a little nightcap. Whether you are hosting a Halloween party or having a quiet night at home with a loved one on this ghoulish night, here are a few Halloween-inspired drink recipes to keep you feeling festive.

Magic Eight Ball

Combine one and half ounces of vodka, three-quarters of an ounce of kahlua and a few splashes of lemon juice into a cocktail shaker with some cubed ice. Shake and then strain the mixture into a glass over a few cubes of ice.

Pumpkin Martini

Who can turn down a martini, especially one that is as spook-tacular as this pumpkin one? Chill a bottle of your favorite vodka overnight. In your martini glass, throw in a candy corn (for extra holiday flair). In a cocktail shaker, combine two ounces of your chilled vodka with a quarter ounce of a pumpkin flavored liqueur and some ice. Shake the contents and strain into your martini glass.

Ghost of Tequila Past

In a cocktail shaker, mix two ounces of tequila, half an ounce of anise liqueur, half an ounce of lemon juice and some ice. Strain the mixture in a glass over a few ice cubes. Throw in a splash of club soda.

Witch of Bourbon Street Daiquiri

Want to bring the flavors of New Orleans into your living room with a good old-fashioned, Halloween-inspired daiquiri? In a blender, put in two ounces of bourbon, one ounce of your favorite vodka, four ounces of grape juice and a cup of ice that has been crushed. Blend the mixture until it is smooth. Pour the daiquiri into glasses that have been chilled for the best taste.

Devilish Brew

In a cocktail shaker, combine three-quarters of an ounce of light rum, three-quarters of an ounce of gin, two teaspoons of lemon juice, two teaspoons of triple sec and ice. Mix well and strain into a glass that has been previously chilled.

The Howling Drink

In a glass, pour half an ounce of vodka, half an ounce of white creme de menthe, one ounce of blue curacao and ice. Fill the glass with your favorite lemon-line beverage and stir for a minty drink.

Bloody Cocktail

Even vampires would love this drink! In a cocktail shaker, combine two ounces of tomato juice, a tablespoon of tequila, two ounces of vodka, half an ounce of dry vermouth, half an ounce of dry gin, a dash of salt and some ice. Shake well and strain into a glass over a few ice cubes for a bloody-good time.
