It's so easy to just string out a cord. However, when cords run through areas of the home there is traffic, it becomes a tripping hazard and an electrical hazard. So, the first thing you need to do is look at your electrical installation. Eliminate all the unnecessary extension cords. Second, make sure that the proper areas have GFI protection. The third thing is swimming pool safety. If you have an in-ground swimming pool, it would be a smart idea to call a contractor. Have him do a walk through of your swimming pool installation to make sure it is all up to code. That's something that a homeowner is not qualified to do. Swimming pools can be very dangerous when mixed with electricity. Also, make sure your house is up to all electrical codes. Make sure you have smoke detectors in the correct places, and please check your batteries. With babies, you need to baby-proof outlets. Just use common sense.
