What Is Enzyte Made Of?

By Dana George

  • Overview

Enzyte is an all-natural male supplement that is essentially used to aid in erections, improve the male libido and enhance sexual performance. Since it is primarily herbal in nature, most people will wonder, and rightly so, whether it actually works. Many products of its kind are generally filled with empty claims. So what sets Enzyte apart from the rest? If truth were to be told, not much.
  • Ingredients

Enzyte is made up of a number of herbal substances that are frequently found in many other male enhancement supplements. The most common of these ingredients are epimedium (horny goat weed), ginkgo biloba, saw palmetto, maca root, l-arginine and muira puama, which is often referred to as "potency wood." Each have been said to "positively" affect the function of the penis and health, so to speak, of the male libido. Besides these now fairly conventional ingredients, or at least in regards to male supplements, Enzyte also has ginseng, tribulus terrestris and zinc oxide.
  • Function

A few of the ingredients in Enzyte, specifically epimedium, ginkgo biloba, muira puama and l-arginine, are said to help restore proper blood flow to the penis in those men suffering from erectile dysfunction, or impotence as it is often called. When the organ is stimulated prior to sexual intercourse, blood will flow to this area of the body to create the rigidity needed to produce an erection. For men who suffer from impotence, this doesn't happen appropriately, and they'll need an aid to effectively achieve an erection. This is where Enzyte comes into play.

  • Other Effects

While the most predominant use of Enzyte would be that of a "proper" erection, a number of the other ingredients, such as saw palmetto, maca root, ginseng and tribulus terrestris, have been included to supposedly aid in other areas of a man's sex life, including an enhancement of his libido and an improvement of his sexual prowess. As of today, there is no real proof that any of these herbal substances actually have any sort of effectiveness in either regard.
  • Drawbacks

One of the main health issues that may accompany the use of Enzyte is an elevated heart rate, which can eventually put a great deal of stress on the heart and damage it in both function and structure. This is mostly due to the increase in the blood flow that doesn't only affect the penis but the entirety of the body, the brunt of which would be on the heart.
  • Other Side Effects

You may also experience a number of the adverse effects from one or more of the ingredients of Enzyte, including headaches, insomnia, constipation or diarrhea, dehydration, gas and bloating, dry mouth, a loss of appetite, nosebleeds, impotence, chest pain and even seizures. If you were to encounter any of these signs or symptoms, you should stop taking the supplement immediately and call a doctor for an urgent checkup.
  • Considerations

While not considered an actual side effect, some medications may be adversely affected by one or more of the ingredients in Enzyte. This could make the actual efficacy of a prescription less effective on a specific health condition. Before beginning Enzyte, consult a health professional to see how any medications you are currently on will interact with the herbal supplement.
