August is our peak month, but things start to open around the end of May. I would say people generally come between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The people who have their summer camps and summer homes arrive any time between May and September, and a lot of them stay through Columbus Day when it starts to get chilly.

We are very well known for our 4th of July Parade. We also have a Lupine Festival in June. The lupine is exactly the same flower as the Texas blue bonnet, except it grows about four feet tall. It is the alpine lupine. Texas has the desert lupine. We always have a theme for our parade. People come from miles around to see it. Everybody has a great time in the village, and then we shoot off fireworks over the water and have dancing and stuff. As far as any other events, though, people really just come here to relax and be on the water.
