Events in Hopkinsville, KY. Events in Hopkinsville, KY include the Edgar Cayce Home Camp Seminar, the National Amateur Baseball Federation World Series, the Little Green Man Festival, and an inter-tribal Indian pow-wow.
In March we have the Edgar Cayce Home Camp Seminar where we bring in doctors and chiropractors who use Edgar Cayce's teachings in their everyday practice. We offer tours of the different places Edgar Cayce lived and worked, and we usually have a play about him as well.
In July, we have the National Amateur Baseball Federation World Series for 12 year olds and under. It brings in a lot of people over several days.
Little River Days occurs in May and the Little Green Man Festival occurs in August. The story goes that in 1955 a little farm house was invaded by UFOs. It was never proven or disproven. There are 91 pages about it in the government's blue book of UFOs, so we had a 50th anniversary festival this year just to kick it off with local people. We had some UFO experts probing in. We plan to make it an annual festival.
Over Labor Day weekend in September, we have our inter-tribal pow-wow. We usually have 16,000-18,000 people in attendance over the two days. There is tribal dancing, Native American clothing, beautiful Native American arts and crafts, and Native American foods. You can also see the park where Chief White Path is buried.
