The Sacramento State Fair is actually the California State Fair, but it is held in Sacramento. It's one of the biggest fairs of its kind and typically draws about a million people every year. It's held over the course of about three weeks ending with Labor Day weekend, and it has a couple of unique features. One is the massive area of county exhibits spread over a couple of dozen buildings. It also has the standard midway area where you can ride the rides. Like all fairs, we have livestock and a judging arena for all that sort of stuff. If you're going to book a hotel in Sacramento during fair time, you better do it way in advance.
The Sacramento Music Circus is a bit of misleading name, because you might think about Ringling Brothers. It got the name because years ago it was a big tent that would have Oklahoma or South Pacific performances. It's now called the World's Park of Pavilion, but they do theater in a round to try to keep up the Music Circus tradition. It's very popular among the locals, but we certainly have visitors who want to see a plays as well. We have the California Musical Theater and the Sacramento Theater Company, which are more like Repertory Theater plays.
