From what I understand there are two codes: they are large missile impact and small missile impact. For the large, they take a 2 x 4 and basically shoot out a canon at 100 miles an hour. Window films will slow it down, but there is no way of stopping a large impact; however, it will stop the small one. It will stop the debris that's brought up and the rocks. A lot of people at the coast line install 4,6, and 8 mm window film with different shades. They all seek heat rejection as well and things like that. If a hurricane is coming through and the debris goes everywhere, it will break the windows, so this will help hold it together. It does work. It is going to keep the water from flowing in and creating damage inside the home. The roof can still fall off though. It's like this: If a stone gets thrown in the air and hits a window, you don't want that stone and glass hitting you. That's what this film is designed to do, to stop that from happening.
