Your wedding is one of the most special events in your life. You only get once chance to make it as unique as you possibly can. Having your wedding in the fall is great for planning a unique wedding. Fall weddings can be done outside or indoors. Choosing to have your wedding outdoors will leave you surrounded by the fall foliage. Early September is perfect for that. The leaves are just beginning to change.

For an indoor wedding, try looking for an older style church. Try to look for something built in the 18th century. An 18th century church will add a touch of charm and magic to your occasion. Create fall-like invitations by using earth themes. Go for colorful leaf designs. Use earth tones such as hunter green or brown for your background colors.

Princess and renaissance style wedding dresses are perfect for the September wedding. Have your bridesmaids in burgundy, hunter green or navy color dresses. For your bouquet, you could carry red roses. If you are planning an October wedding, do something fun for the Halloween month. You may want to have an indoor wedding for this month. Again, an older style church building would be appropriate.

Design your invitations with Halloween themes. The front of your invitations could picture two jack -o-lantern faces: one with hair like a woman and the other one with a top hat. A costume wedding would be fun for October and you could invite your guests to attend the wedding wearing costumes of either their choice or yours. The women could all show up wearing one costume and the males could show up wearing a different costume.

Dress up like a princess. Wear a princess style wedding dress with the princess tiara and a detachable train. Have your bridesmaids wear maid outfits. The groom could wear a prince costume, with the groomsmen dressed up as knights. Decorate your ceremony with fall leaves, roses or daisies. Set out pumpkins and squash and use jack-o-lanterns to light up your ceremony. In either September or October, plan a Thanksgiving menu for your reception. If your wedding is in October, make your wedding cake chocolate with orange icing.

Plan your wedding and reception at least 6 months to a year before your wedding date. The very first thing you will want to do is create a budget.
