For parents who get an opportunity to get out with ther children, there are ponds and streams in your area. This time of year these bodies of water produce well. A small rod, reel, hook, split shot, bobber and a worm are all that is necessary to put a little tug on the end of junior's rod.

Attach the hook to the main line. Clip on a small split shot above the hook and about two to three feeet above the hook add the bobber. The bobber should be only big enough to prevent the worm from laying on the bottom. Perch are usualy active on bright sunny days and rock bass can be found along sections of rocky shorline and around docks. Kids need plenty of action so keeping bait on the hook and fish off the hook are important to any success for children's angling adventures. With a needlenose pliers crimp back the barb of the hook so the fish can be easily released unharmed. I would recommend this setup especially for children who should be taught to to release fish that won't be consumed unharmed .
