Your guy friend is going through a rough time as he is nearing the end of his divorce. Who knows? Maybe he is happy to be done with the marriage or maybe he is devastated that his marriage is ending. Whichever the case may be, he needs you as his friend to be there for him and help him through this major life event. Why not get him a gift that will inspire him to move on or simply put a smile on his face?
* If your guy friend loves magazines or couldn’t get certain magazines when he was married, get him a twelve month subscription to one of his favorite magazines. If he loves cars, you could get him a subscription to “Car and Driver” or, if he loves golf, you could get him a subscription to “Golf Digest.” Of course, there are other magazines he may be interested in like “Playboy,” but you will need to make the call as to what magazine your friend is ready for.
* Is your newly divorced guy friend in love with nature? Get a group of his buddies together and go hiking or camping in one of his favorite locations. Borrow a couple of coolers and fill them with food to grill and some beer or liquor to drink.
* Maybe your guy friend used to love to go out before he got married. Invite some of his friends and take him out to a club to go dancing or a bar to go drinking. He might very well enjoy the single life again. If he is a little more low-key, go to his favorite diner or out bowling. It is tempting to want to whisk him away to a place where he can meet new girls right away, so be sure to ask him what he is up for. He may not be in the mood or he may not be comfortable meeting new women this soon, so obey his wishes.
* If before getting married, your guy friend thought top ramen was a gourmet meal or if your guy friend rarely stepped foot into the kitchen, he might need a little help in the cooking department. Make him a few frozen entrees that he can easily store and heat up when he needs to. Buy him a cookbook or two of quick and fast recipes or enroll him in a cooking class that you take with him.
* Perhaps your guy friend loves sports? Get him tickets to an upcoming football, basketball or hockey game and join him.
* Gift certificate are exceptional gifts for that guy who is hard to shop for. If he loves woodworking, get him a gift certificate to one of his favorite lumber yards or tool stores. If he loves playing golf or certain sports, get him a gift certificate to a local athletic store. If he is a good friend, chances are you are pretty familiar with his hobbies, so get him a gift certificate that is right up his alley.
* Buy your guy friend a couple of classic guy movies like Rambo, The Godfather, Rocky or The Terminator.
