Football teams can use all the support they can get, from cheerleaders to encouraging fans, to coach pep-talks in the locker room. So if you're a fan looking for a way to provide additional support for your team, try wearing a football helmet decal on your next visit to a game or practice!

Decals can be found in almost any athletic store and outlet, and are a cheap, easy, and long-lasting way to show your support for your local team or favorite NFL team. Made of durable plastic, they will not fade or wear out over time. They can also be personalized with the name or number of your favorite player, or a message from you to the team.

Many football helmet decals are removable, with the option to put them on your helmet and take them off at any time, or switch the style or location. This type of decal is actually just a thin plastic sheet, with the logo or name of your favorite team printed on the side in colorful letters and designs. They can be attached to any smooth surface, including your football helmet, personal items, or the windshield of your car.

Attached to a paper backing, simply peel the decal off the package and affix it to the helmet in the location you desire. You may want to moisten the back of the decal, either with water or by licking it, to affix it more securely. The non-glue decals will work well for a game. They can be removed afterwards and reused. There is no limit to the number of times you can use and reuse these durable decals.

Other decals have a more permanent glue backing, which cannot be reused or moved once placed on the helmet. Such decals will not fade with wear. Instead of the logo being printed on the plastic, which might rub off over time, these decals incorporate the ink into the plastic materials, and when affixed to the helmet they appear to be part of the very design of the helmet. Decals will adhere to plastic that is much thinner with just a little glue.

Simply wash the surface of your helmet with soap and water, to ensure that there is no dirt, and dry it carefully. Choose the location of your decal carefully as you will not be able to change it later. Then peel the decal from the paper backing and stick it on the location you have chosen. Instead of pushing the entire decal down at once, you might want to put one edge down and smooth the rest of the decal onto the surface, eliminating any air bubble or bumps.

Football helmet decals can be found for almost any team, both NFL and college football. Go to your nearest football equipment store to check out the range of options. If you would like to have a specific college team that might be difficult to find, you can always try the college bookstore, which should carry a range of designs. Many colleges have online listings, allowing you to browse and purchase a decal without traveling all the way to the college itself.

Additionally, Football helmet decals can be self-designed, and prints can be made from almost any picture or drawing you desire. Many crafts shops and printing shops have the materials to make decals for a low price, allowing you to personalize your message or team logo. This works well for small teams and high school teams also, who can create their own logo and have them printed up and distributed to players and fans. Local teams can even use this method to raise money for the team, by printing a large number of deals at discounted prices and then selling them at games and meets to parents and fans. Often, this can be combined with t-shirt sales to send a small team to away games and competitions.

So why not do something to support your local team, like wearing a football helmet decal to the next game? It is a cheap and easy way to show support, accessorize, and personalize your own football equipment.
