Fast And Easy Family Recipes: Not The Same Old Way Chicken Recipe

This is a small collection of different chicken recipes that are healthy and good to eat.

Chicken is a domestic fowl and can be delicious when prepared properly. You can find a small collection of chicken recipes that I find are different. These are very tasty and nutritious.

CHICKEN CASSEROLE

You will need:

1- Four pound chicken

2-cups carrots, diced

1- Cup celery, diced

1/4 Cup cooking oil

1/2- Cup onion diced

1-Cup milk

1-Cup hot water

Salt and pepper

1- Green pepper, chopped

Flour

Directions:

Take the chicken and cut into pieces and cover with flour. Brown in hot oil, season with salt and pepper. Place chicken in casserole dish, add water and cover. Cook slowly until chicken is tender at 375F. When chicken is tender add vegetables, which have been, browned in oil, cover and slowly cook until vegetables are tender, add water if necessary. Then remove pan from oven and remove chicken then add milk and two tablespoons flour, mix well with vegetables and broth. Then return pan back to oven and cook slowly until mixture is smooth, about 15 to 20 minutes. Then remove and serve with chicken. This will serve 8.

CHICKEN GUMBO

You will need:

1- Three pound chicken

2- Tablespoons cooking oil

24- Oysters

2- Tablespoons flour

3- Sprigs parsley, minced

1/2-Onion, minced

2- Slices tomato

Cayenne, salt and pepper to season

Directions:

Cut chicken in pieces, season highly with cayenne, salt and pepper. Place chicken in hot oil and brown. Then remove the chicken from frying pan; sift flour into hot oil. Brown flour and add onion, then brown onion slightly. Return chicken to pan and add hot water. Simmer the chicken until it is tender. Then add oysters and parsley and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and it can be served with rice or pasta.
