Since the program is self paced, you can start and complete anytime. Tuition cost $1,925 for their basic program which prepares you to start your own medical transcription business or work for a medical practice. They also offer career services to assist with job placement.

Ashworth University's Medical Transcription program offers a fast-track option, which allows you to complete the course quicker then the six months allotted. Students have the option of completing the course online or by correspondence with workbooks and CD-ROM.

Complete a Free Application for Student Federal Aid. Medical Transcription Training can cost between $1,000 and $3,000 to complete. Completing the FASA application will allow you to apply for federal grants and student loans to pay for your education. Also, check with the school you choose for available scholarship programs and additional financial assistance. Some schools offer interest-free monthly payment plans.

For example, if a program typically takes six months to complete studying 2 hours a day, instead increase your study time to 4 hours a day to finish in half the time.
